How to create an account

Claiming your Universal Money Address, or UMA for short, so you can send and receive money is easy. 

Here's how:

1. Visit link.uma.me and click the "Sign up" link.

2. Enter the email address you want to link to your UMA account.

3. Check your inbox for the email address you entered. Click the "Confirm email" button to confirm your email address.

4. Enter a strong password for your account. 

5. Enter a phone number to use for two-step verification. This helps keep your account secure.

6. Next, you'll need to verify your identity. Click the "I agree" box and then click the "Continue" button.

7. Enter your personal information and click the "Continue" button.

8. Enter your residence and citizenship info, and then click the "Continue" button. 

9. Confirm your information is correct and then click the "Submit" button. 

10. Wait while your identity is verified. If you're identity isn't able to be verified, you'll receive an email with more information. 

11. Once your identity is verified, you can claim your UMA. 

12. After your claim your UMA, you'll receive an email. Click "Connect bank" to connect a bank account so you can send and receive money. 

13. To connect your bank account, we use a third party called Plaid. You'll be able to choose the bank you want to connect in just a few clicks. Don't forget, your bank needs to support Real-Time Payments (RTP).  

Once you connect your bank, you can send and receive money using your UMA account.
