Follow these steps to set up your UMA account and connect your Mexican bank so you can start sending and receiving money.
Step 1: Select Your Language
- At the top right corner of the UMA homepage, click on the globe icon next to “Get UMA.”
- From the dropdown menu, select your preferred language (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, or German).
Step 2: Start Your Registration
- Once your language is selected, click “Get UMA” in the top right corner.
- You’ll be prompted to select your country — choose Mexico.
Then, click “Get Started.”
Step 3: Verify Your Phone Number
- Enter your mobile number and make sure to select the +52 country code from the dropdown list.
- Click Continue.
- You’ll receive a 6-digit verification code via SMS. Enter it and click Submit.
Step 4: Select Your Bank Country
- Next, you’ll be asked to select where your bank is located.
- Choose Mexico (MXN) and click Continue.
Step 5: Create Your UMA Account
- Enter your email address and create a password.
- Click Continue.
- Then, create your UMA address — this is the unique name you’ll use to send and receive money.
- If your preferred name is unavailable, try a variation and click Continue.
Step 6: Activate Your UMA
- To start using UMA, you’ll need to verify your identity and connect your bank. Click “Verify identity & connect bank.”
- ⚠️ You must complete this verification step in order to send or receive funds.
Step 7: Verify Your Email and Connect Your Bank
- First, verify your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
- Then, connect your UMA to your bank account:
- Enter your legal name.
- Input your 18-digit CLABE number.
- Click Continue.
Step 8: Confirm Your Information
- Next, confirm the following details:
- Date of birth and nationality
- Residential address
- Click Continue after each step.
Step 9: Verification Process
- UMA will automatically verify your information.
- This process typically takes up to 30 seconds, but in some cases may take a bit longer. If there’s a delay, you’ll receive a notification once verification is complete.
Step 10: You’re All Set!
- Once verification is complete, you can start using your UMA account to send and receive money in MXN or any currency directly to your linked bank account.
