Creating an UMA account

Step 1: Go to UMA

• Visit https://www.uma.me/.

• To change the language, click on the globe icon in the top right corner.

Step 2: Start Your Registration

• Click “Get UMA” in the top right corner.

• On the next page, click the blue icon in the center labeled “Get Started”.

• You’ll see an overview of the steps ahead. Click Continue.

Step 3: Verify Your Phone Number

• Enter your mobile number.

• Be sure to select your country code first!

• Click Continue.

• You’ll receive a 6-digit SMS code—enter it and click Submit.

Step 4: Create Login Credentials

• Enter your email address and create a password.

• Click Continue.

Step 5: Create Your UMA Address

• Choose your Universal Money Address (UMA).

• Once created, you can proceed to verification or choose to verify later.
  ⚠️ Important: Your account must be verified to send/receive money. We recommend verifying now.

Step 6: Verify Your Identity

1. Verify your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox.

2. Agree to identity verification.

3. Enter your basic information → click Continue.

4. Enter your residence and citizenship info → click Continue.

5. Review all details → click Submit.

6. Wait for verification.

   • If verification fails, you’ll receive an email with instructions.

Step 7: Connect Your Bank

• UMA uses Plaid (a secure third party) to connect your bank account.

• Select your bank and log in.

• ⚠️ Your bank must support Real-Time Payments (RTP).

• Once connected, you can send and receive money with your UMA account!
